SALE! 20% OFF! Offered is an amazing 1960 era cocktail dress in dusty rose pink. It has a scooped neckline. The cap sleeves are not sewn in, but extend from the shoulder for 6 1/2". The bodice features a pleated band of satin in the same tone of dusty pink. The satin is also used for the prettiest accent for this dress--a 10 1/2 x 5" wide bow at the back with 35 1/2" tails that extend all the way to the hem. The skirt is pleated at the sides, but uses princess seaming for its slim torso and flared skirt. Note that this dress is very slim through the torso. Note we were unable to extend the 14 1/2" zipper past the waist, although it would have closed higher on the torso. It is 44 1/2" from shoulder to the turn under, fused hem. Another unusual feature is that on the left, the sleeve is only defined once the dress is zipped; the sleeve closes with a hook and eye. The following measurements were taken off the model: 34 1/2" bust; 25" waist; 40" hip (note that is with pulling the pleats flat). We are unsure what to designate the fabric as--we want to call it a faille as it has that striated, slightly raised weave. Perhaps someone would like to give us some help on this. This dress is from the estate sale of a Chicago area fashion model who posed in the '50's/'60's. PLEASE NOTE: our first examination did not reveal any stains, but a closer look revealed three round, quarter size discolorations on the right front of the skirt below the waist. When we looked for them to take pics, it took a while to re-locate them. Our point is they are not immediately evident, but they are there. We have tried to take pics of this--it is the one with the pen laying across it. We have not cleaned this piece. It has no unusual odor and no holes. Original price $95. Item 52177a
