SALE! 25% OFF! Offered is a bright vintage kitchen accessory. In Scandinavian style, it is a painted spoon and cup holder with a cheerful red background and stylized country style flowers. This could also be called a Pennsylvania Dutch style. There is more to the story--the shelf which could hold any number of kitchen items lifts up to reveal a hinged box for sundry kitchen necessaries. The top of the holder is curved below which are the six holes for spoons. Next is the flat top, lidded box. The bottom has the hooks for cups. The sides of the holder are curved. The wood appears to be oak or one with a similar grain. The sides, spoon holder lid and bottom of box are in unpainted wood. The bright red is highlighted with the flowers (tulips?) in deep green and brown. The back is a heavier textured material--perhaps a particle board? This is not a small piece--it measures 13 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 5". We found no label, but suspect this is the '70's or earlier. We found no nicks and no loss of paint. PLEASE NOTE: the spoons in the pictures are not included but will be listed at a later date. In addition to the spoons, this was originally found with small copper pitchers to be offered later also.
