SALE! 15% OFF! Offered is an amazing wedding or prom gown in white tulle with tiny rose decorated bodice. When we found this at an upscale estate sale in the Chicago suburbs, we simply had to have it--no waiting for the next day mark-downs. From the 1950's, this dress is like none we have ever seen. We are terming this as a wedding gown because it will meet the dreams of the bride who wants to use her vintage sensibility to wear a dress outside of the mainstream. This was intended, we believe, as a prom or summer dance dress. It is in yards and yards of white tulle. But we want to start with the bodice, which is the distinguishing feature. The strapless bodice top is covered with tiny white "millinery" flower roses surrounding the top of the bust. The rest of the bodice is pleated tulle. The roses are also scattered on the tulle skirt. The skirt has 5 layers of tulle and then a satin underskirt. Note that we are showing this on our adolescent model, so be cautious of the measurements we are citing as this is unquestionably a size XS or S (modern charts would accord this a size 2-4). The bodice has stays. Measurements: 31" bust (measured on the inside); 26" waist; 43" waist to hem. Note the sides closes with multiple hooks and eyes and we could not close this on our teen model at the waist. We found no holes, no stains. Some flowers may be missing, but none that we noted. This dress has not been cleaned--the white is more of a grayish tone, by design or from years of storage, we don't know. We found no maker, size or content labels. In our experience, fluffy tulle gowns ship best when rolled and then steamed upon arrival. Item 51257a
