BARGAIN BASEMENT! 60% OFF! Offered is one of the more distinguished dresser sets from the deco era. It is the popular Empire design, Lucite brand from Dupont Viscoloid Company. It was presented in 1930 under the inspiration of Verna Cook Salomonsky, architect and designer. One of the original ads indicated that this was in harmony with the trend of the time for early American or Empire design in the bedroom. The background color was called Colonial Buff with the grand Grecian lady in Imperial Green. Feathered cartouche and a Nile inspired plant with some hints of gold are also present. Black edging contributes to the "smart, angular silhouette." (We are quoting from page 61 of Antique Dresser Sets by Ettinger) We are offering three pieces. They are: Brush:9 3/8" long and 2 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" deep. NOTE: some of the bristles along the edge are missing. Covered Box: 8 sided 6 x 4 x 1 1/2". This is lined in a velvet like fabric in rust tone. No issues noted on the box. Mirror: 8 sided, 15 1/2" long 5 1/2" at widest. NOTE: we find 2 pea size discolorations on the back and one at the edge of the front. There are no problems with the beveled mirror. Original listing price $85 Item 5006e Lot 5/1/6
