Offered is a pair of vintage wooden shoe lasts or stretchers. This type of stretcher was quite popular. Decorating them was often covered in ladies magazines from the '20's on as appropriate for gift giving. The toe and heel sections are in wood--in this case painted teal blue. A flexible metal band provides the stretch needed. It is the band that brought out creative instincts as a variety of means were used to cover them. This pair has a pretty peach satin ribbon gathered delicately as a cover. One has an extant rose applique, the other is missing the rose. These are 12" long and 1 3/4" at the widest.
