Offered is a 1930 era chiffon garden party dress. All the hallmarks from the late '20's, early '30's are there. The pattern is large splashes of flowers in nile green and purple tone rose. Three features are iconic for the early 1930's or late 1920's. The first is the wide cape collar that sweeps from the jewel neckline. It is trimmed in a 3" mint green machine made lace. The same lace at 9 1/4" wide serves as flounces at the sides of the V dropped waist. The skirt then gently drapes and has an uneven hemline (actually feature #4). We are offering this "as is", but first here are the measurements" the cape is 17" long at the back and 9 1/2" at the front; 15" across the back; 42 1/2" shoulder to hem; 17" armhole; 35" bust; 36" waist; approximate 46" hip. PLEASE NOTE: this is offered "as is". This piece will require repair. Most notably--there is a 6" tear in the cape collar at the left. It can be repaired as it is a tear, not a hole. There is a 1" tear at the top of the right shoulder. There is a sign of an old repair on the left lower skirt. There may be other small tears or holes that we missed. We have recently laundered this in woolite and cold water. The dyes are old and they bleed, this has not affected the pattern of the floral design, but you will not want to wash this with other items. This would be appropriate for display or perhaps a one time wearing. One could want to use it for pattern or for rescuing the fabric. Item 4008a
