Offered is a mid-century dress that shines in lavender taffeta. First, we must qualify that "shine". This is an iridescent fabric, by which we mean the fabric would change color ever so slightly with a change in light or in movement. This dress, however, has been stored for decades and the shine has deteriorated to faded patches. The color varies from a grayed plum to purple rose. The fading is especially noted in the front, the back has less variance. So, we are offering this for theater production or for re-purposing. The dress has wing sleeves, Peter Pan collar accented with a two strand faux pearl necklace. The waist is set in and the 23" metal zipper is in the back. The skirt is nicely gathered and could support a crinoline. It has a self fabric belt at 3/4" wide and 3 1/2" long. Details: 28" waist; 15" across back; 37" bust; 38 1/2" hip; 16 1/2" shoulder to waist; 30 3/4" waist to turn under hem. We found no holes and the only staining is the fading. Original listing price $20. Item 3119a
