1920's Era Pre-Adolescent Girl's Summer Dress in White Lace and Embroidery with Slip
RESERVED for Catherine SECOND MARKDOWN! 15% OFF! Offered is a 1920 era girl's summer dress. We are terming this as pre-adolescent size. It carries the hallmarks of an early 19th century dress. It is pristine white see through fabric (batiste?) in pin tucking and lace. The front has a high square neckline edged in lace. On each side of the front are separate lappets or panels in white on white embroidery and edged in lace. These reach to below the waist. The front of the bodice itself is also composed of the embroidered fabric. The back has 2 bands of pin tucking. The 12" elbow length sleeves have a band of pin tucking and are edged in lace. The skirt extends from a set-in waist band. It features horizontal pin tucks and then a hem stitched flounce of embroidered fabric. There are three buttons at the back and a missing hook and eye at the waist. Measurements: 12" across back; 14 1/2" shoulder to waist; 29" waist to hem; 29" waist; 30 1/2" bust. We are showing this on a modern size girl's 12 model--note the gapping in the buttons on the model. This was found with a slip which appears to be of more recent vintage. The dress will need a slip so we are including it as found. The slip is in white cotton. It has a scoop neckline with eyelet lace edging at the neckline and the armholes. It has a 4 button closure on a 15" placket in the front. It is 37" shoulder to hem; 30" bust; 33" waist; 40" hip (meant to fit loosely). PLEASE NOTE: we have found no holes BUT there are several less than pea size stains on the back of the dress below the waist at the hip. Whitening may address these, but we chose to not attempt it.
