Offered is a vintage Dennis the Menace hand puppet. He is as cute in rubber and fabric as he was on the cartoon page. This was produced in 1959-1960 by Hall Syndicate. The puppet is based on the cartoon character of Hank Ketcham. For those who grew up with the antics of Dennis, merely looking at this puppet will elicit memories of Mr. Wilson and this active 5 1/2 year old "every boy." As Comics Kingdom says Dennis had "good intentions, misdirected helpfulness and exuberant energy." The puppet has a "rubber" head with uneven texture to mimic that head of blonde hair and the eyebrows that somehow rise above those bangs. The cowlick is there too. He is dressed in a blue and white striped T-shirt and red overalls. He is marked on the back of his head, which we were unable to read, but search says it is Hall Syndicate. He is 8" across his outstretched hands, 9" tall and 10" around his head. We have laundered his outfit and there are no stains and no holes. He has a raspberry paint mark on his right cheek. Original listing price $15. Item 14148a Lot 3/1/8
