SALE! 30% OFF! Offered is a charming confection of a prom dress or formal gown. It could even serve as a wedding gown for the adventurous. Styled by Mike Benet, it is in layers of pristine white lace. We want to start with the bodice because we are showing this in two poses. The bodice is white fitted satin. It has an overlay of 8" lace flounce, unattached at the bottom. The flounce extends from a band of hidden elastic that stretches from shoulder to shoulder. As is, the flounce can be worn off the shoulder, it can also be worn with the flounce pulled over the shoulders. Amazingly, thin blue ribbons tie at the shoulder on each side. We are wondering how well these would hold. We feel that the elastic should be replaced for a tighter fit, either way one chooses to wear the shoulders. The waist is encircled with a 2" cummerbund in baby blue satin. The skirt--oh my goodness--the skirt is composed of 28 bands of 2 1/2" wide lace giving this a full look for the skirt. Under the layers of lace is a satin like fabric liner, then an underskirt of tulle. Details: This is marked as a size 8, but we caution that the zipper does not fully close at the back above the waist on our model. 34 1/2" bust; 26" back nylon zipper; 25" waist; 11" nape of neck to start of gown; 6" neckline from throat; 60" shoulder to hem. We believe this dates from the '60's/'70's. This is a heavy dress. It will be shipped rolled and in our experience, dresses respond well to steaming. We found no holes, no stains. This has not been cleaned, but there is no odor. Original listing price $125. Item 1317a
