LAST CALL! 30% OFF! Offered is a gorgeous evening gown or ball gown which could double for a wedding gown. We are going to do our best in the description in hopes it can convey how special this dress is. The style has a deco influence and reminds one of the wonderful beaded dresses from that era. This also makes extensive use of silver tone beading and sequins and rhinestones to make its point. The body of the dress is a cream colored net embroidered with a floral design. The top has a scoop neck leading to a detached, heavily beaded V-shape yoke. The 3" cap sleeves are beaded, but heavily padded underneath to offer some balance to the straight lines of the dress. The dress falls from the shoulders to a drop waist. The skirt is gracefully draped. Throughout, the dress is embellished with appliques of densely beaded star burst blossoms. The back also features bands of beading which extend, but are not attached to the armhole seam. The dress closes at the back with 17 corset buttons and loops on an 11" placket. This dress will require an underslip (unless you are especially adventurous). Before listing the measurements, we want to offer a CAUTION: Although the net has a little "give", we also feel that the following measurements should be taken seriously and one should perhaps err on the side of assuming the dress is smaller than the measurements quoted. It is being shown on a model with measurements of 33 1/2" bust; 25" waist; and 34" hip. The back is shown with not all the buttons closed as we did not want to add undue stress to the buttons by buttoning and un-buttoning. With that said, we measured: 36" bust; 32" waist; 35" hip; 59" shoulder to hem; scoop neck starts 6" below throat; at back the scoop begins 11" below the nape of the neck. PLEASE NOTE: this dress has some tears to the netting. We notice this especially at the back near the waist at the buttons 4-5 holes from dime to quarter size--see pics; there is a hole under the right armhole and at the front center at the hip near the seamline of the dropped waist; the band at the back under the left underarm has some beads dangling. Net can be repaired but again, we suggest being careful with the sizing to prevent future tears. We found no stains. Additional pics of holes upon request. This item has not been cleaned and has no unusual odor. There may be beading loss, but we have not noted them, so it is not evident. We believe this dress dates from the '80's/'90's. It was purchased at an estate sale with items from the '50's -'90's. Item 10676a
