Antique Bisque Ernst Heubach in Antique Dress
17" Antique Bisque Ernst Heubach in an Antique Dress. Lovely girl with beautiful brown paperweight eyes. Her eyes have much depth with the dark brown color. She has finely painted upper and lower lashes and an open mouth with four teeth. Her delicately blushed cheeks are nicely done with no scuffs. She has a pale blond mohair wig in soft curls. Doll has her original leather body with pin joints for easy sitting. Her original bisque arms are beautifully modeled with perfect fingers. She wears a beautiful old cotton print dress in a dark indigo blue with a white circle pattern. The material used for her dress came from a mill in the midwest and can be found in different variations on antique dolls. It is always the same blue but with a slightly different pattern. Her dress has a full skirt and buttons up the back with three milk glass buttons. The bodice of dress is lined with white cotton material. There are some mends on the dress and some brown streaks in the back but they get lost in the folds and do not detract. She wears beige cotton pantaloons with lace trim, black cotton stockings and old black leather handmade shoes. An old black felt hat with flowers completes her look. Doll is in beautiful condition with no hairline cracks or chips in her bisque. Her bisque is smooth with no scuffs or scratches. Her back shoulder plate where the marks are has some uneven coloring but this is how the head was fired and is not damaged or repainted just a factory variation in color. Her leather body is nice and firmly stuffed with no sagging or tears. Doll's wig is nice and clean with soft waves. Marks: Made in Germany, a horseshoe mark, W&C 7/0. The W. C. stands for W. Cohen the distributor. Circa 1900-1910. Lovely girl in a nice antique dress.
