25" Antique Bisque Kestner Lady Doll Letter J from the Alphabet Series. Exquisite turned head beauty dressed in her original Victorian lawn dress. She is an estate doll kept in the same family for years. Doll has an extreme turn to her head and a nice deep shoulder plate. She has brown sleep eyes finely painted upper and lower lashes and beautifully feathered brows. Her brown sleep eyes have their original wax. She has an open mouth with four teeth and she has nicely blushed cheeks. Doll has her original leather body with a slim waist. She has her original bisque hands and composition lower legs. She has pin joints in her hips and knees for easy sitting. Her body is firmly packed with no sagging. Doll has her original brown human hair wig in long curls. She has her original plaster pate which is loose. It is not glued down for shipping to secure her eyes so they do not move. She wears her original Victorian dress made of a fine white cotton with stripes in material. The dress is fitted at waist and trimmed with fine white lace. She wears a white cotton slip and pantaloons with heavy hand crocheted lace. Doll wears old beige cotton stockings and has her original paper type white shoes. One shoe has tape and is coming apart but is still nice to have as they are original to doll. A lovely antique straw hat completes her look. Doll is in beautiful condition for her age. She has perfect bisque with no hairline cracks, chips or scuffs. Her eyes sleep nicely with original wax on lids. Her leather body is very solid with no mends, there is some soiling to the leather but that is expected for her age. Her bisque arms are perfect with no chips. Her hair is in it's original long curl set and is full. Dolls dress is in beautiful condition with no stains or tears in the fine fabric. Marks: J Made in Germany. Circa late 1880's-early1890's. Beautiful estate doll was well kept through the years. She would be a wonderful addition to any antique doll collection.
