Victorian Child's Blouse in Lavender Stripe Silk for an Antique Doll. Fabulous Victorian piece in wonderful condition. The blouse is made of cream and lavender stripe silk and fully lined with cream colored fine cotton material. The silk material is raised in between the stripes so it has a texture to it. It buttons up the front with all tiny shell buttons intact. It is trimmed at the neck and sleeves with cream net lace. The sleeves have pale pink silk ribbon decorating the edge. The blouse is shown on a very large antique bisque doll with a ball jointed composition body. The doll is 34" tall but the blouse would fit a much larger doll 36"-38". The blouse measures 14" from shoulder to waist and 13" across chest under arms. The blouse is gathered in the back and has a fullness to it. The sleeve length is 11" long to the edge of blouse without the lace flounce. The lace adds another three inches. The blouse is in excellent condition for it's age. It was well kept, probably in a cedar chest. There are no tears, splits, moth holes or stains in the silk. All of the buttons are intact. The colors are nice with no fading. Circa 1890's. Wonderful Victorian piece to put on a large doll or just to display. The blouse could also be worn by a small child in a photo shoot with Victorian clothing.
