26" Antique Bisque Heinrich Handwerck Simon Halbig with Rare Fur Eyebrows. This large lovely child has the seldom seen real fur eyebrows inserted into her bisque. The fur eyebrow dolls are usually seen on dolls made by the Kestner firm and Armand Marseille. A slit is made in the bisque before firing and afterwards a piece of fur is inserted on the inside of head to represent real hair eyebrows. Not many of these dolls were made as it was quite a process. Simon Halbig made the bisque head and Handwerck made the body. This beautiful girl has large dark brown sleep eyes with all hair eyelashes intact. She has finely painted lower lashes and an open mouth with four teeth and nicely blushed cheeks. Doll has her original long honey blond human hair wig which matches her eyebrows perfectly. Doll has pierced ears with vintage faux pearl drop earrings intact. Her original composition body is ball jointed and nicely strung. It has the Heinrich Handwerck name in red ink on her hip. She wears a beautiful vintage black and white check taffeta dress with black lace trim. The dress has a very full skirt and a sheer black collar piece. The materials are vintage. She wears a cream cotton full slip and pantaloons. Doll has white stockings and vintage black shoes. A vintage black velvet hat completes her look. Doll is in beautiful condition with perfect bisque, no hairline cracks or chips. Her cheek color is nice with no scuffs. Her human hair wig is very nice and full with no trims. Her eyebrows are perfect with no wear in the fur skin. Her composition body has it's nice original finish. There are some touch ups on her hands and lower legs but they are nicely done and do not detract. Her clothes are clean with no tears or stains in the fabric. Marks: Germany Heinrich Handwerck Simon & Halbig on head, body marked Heinrich Handwerck Germany. Circa 1905-1910. Beautiful impressive example of a fur eyebrow doll.
