A heavily carved oak blanket chest with incised diamond panels with center foliate decoration, which continues along the upper edge of the chest, along with carved initials XW and 1696, and a raised paneled back. Probably Continental in origin, in good overall condition, with great patina, replaced hinges (the top may have also been replaced at some point), minor losses, top stains, and some of the original lock hardware is present.
