A wonderful Grand Orange Lodge sash, also known as an Orangeman Sash. The Lodge was instituted sometime in 1831 and this piece was owned by William John White of Moores Mill, New Brunswick, Canada. The pin on the sash is King William III, the King of Orange, seen leading the Battle of Boyne in Ireland. The round rosette has colors as follows: Orange- 1st Degree; Blue-2nd Degree; Purple-3rd Degree; Scarlet-4th Degree. The star represents the Star of the East.
The sash is in very good condition, mounted under glass on a textile, and framed in a decorative carved wooden frame. Provenance attached. Dimensions: Sash: Approximately 28” H x 21” W; actual; 32 ¾” H x 26 ¾” W, framed. Ref: 216
