A fine example of a large polychrome Japanese Imari charger with six border foliate panels around a center foliate panel in the typical red, blue and gilt palette, with accents of green. The underside shows additional blue foliate decoration around the border. Dates to the late 19th century in very good overall condition, with minimal imperfections and slight dullness to the glazed finish on the front side from age and use.
