A fine example of a heavy chromed, porcelained, and scrolled metal frame barber chair by Theo A. Kochs, Chicago, with porcelain arms, red seat, back, headrest, and footrest, adjustable back and swivel seat height (hydraulic pump handle on side), and leather & canvas razor straps attached, embossed on the front “Manufactured by Theo A Kochs Company, Chicago” as well as on the footrest “Theo A Kochs, Chicago”. An American company, the Theodore A. Koch firm of Chicago began about 1870 with a line of heavily carved wooden barber chairs. By 1920, their chairs had evolved into heavy chrome and porcelain with leather seats. This chair has undergone a fine overall restoration - re-chromed, new porcelain finish, with minimal spot losses, replaced upholstery, and minor imperfections commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: Approximately 47 in H x 28 in W x 45 in D. Ref:8
