A fine example of a rare American Revolutionary silver mounted sword cuttoe with dog head decoration on the guard ends, running stag incised on the blade, and original leather & silver decorated scabbard. Dates to circa 1770’s in very good condition, with some minor surface wear, some splitting to the leather scabbard near the top and near the tip, a small black canvas or sharkskin strengthening strip added to the scabbard for stability, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use.
