Pair of Philadelphia Chippendale Style Carved Mahogany Side Chairs

A finely carved pair of Centennial Philadelphia Chippendale style side chairs with shell carved crests & seat, pierce carved scroll & tassel splats and seats, beautiful foliate and scroll carved front cabriole legs with ball & claw feet, and silk striped slip seat upholstery. The set probably dates to the late 19th century and is in very good overall condition, with minor surface imperfections, and wear commensurate with age and use. Some light staining on one of the upholstered seats. Dimensions: Each measure approximately 41.5 in H x 23 in W x 21 in D.
