A fine White Mountain watercolor of Mount Washington in New Hampshire by American artist Sears Gallagher (1869-1955). Gallagher was born in West Roxbury, Massachusetts and started his art studies at the Hawes Evening Art School where he studied drawing under George H. Bartlett, also studied privately under Tomasso Juglaris in Boston, as well as with Samuel Peter Rolt Triscott, focusing on watercolors and etchings to create landscapes and marine scenes. In this pursuit he was a pioneer of his time. Gallagher made several return trips to England, France, and Italy, but his first love would remain Monhegan and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
