A colorful mixed media with acrylic of the Statue of Liberty head with colored border by well known German artist Peter Max (b. 1937). Max was born in Berlin, Germany, spent his first ten years in Shanghai, China, eventually emigrating to New York in 1953, where he eventually became very well known for his commercial illustration, photo collages, and 60’s psychedelic style he developed, with his visual impact landing him on covers of albums and magazines.
Mixed media painting with acrylic and color lithography on paper, signed lower left in acrylic, titled on verso label “Liberty Head II on Blends,” with linen-lined double-mats & multiple black insets, and housed under plexiglas in a molded giltwood frame. Probably dates to the early 21st century. Dimensions: 9 1/2” H x 7 ½” W, sight; 24 1/4” H x 22 1/4” W, framed. Ref:10654
