A beautiful mahogany chest of drawers with an associated gray variegated shaped marble top surmounting a case with three drawers, each with three bookmatched veneered cross-banded panels with checkered border accents and original brass ring pulls and hardware, flanked by contrasting vertical inlays on each corner, and supported by four round tapered legs. The checkered inlay accent continues onto the side veneer panels. European in origin, probably Italian, dating to circa 1790, in very good overall condition, with minor veneer losses, shrinkage cracks, and other minor imperfections and expected wear from age and use. The marble top is period, but probably not original to the piece. Dimensions: 31.75 in H x 40 in W x 18.25 in D.
