This colorful impressionist Autumn landscape was painted by American artist Alonzo W. Ritter (b. 1898). Ritter was born in Hagerstown, Maryland and became a member of the Public Works of Art Program (PWAP) under the New Deal. He has exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC and was a member of the American Artists Professional League and Society of Independent Artists. Oil on canvas, signed lower left, titled inscribed on verso “Autumn Glory, Blair’s Valley,” and housed in a rustic carved molded frame. Dimensions: 20 ⅛” h x 22 ⅛” w, actual; 23 ½” h x 25 ½” w, framed.
