This pleasant New Hampshire landscape painting was done by American artist Charles Curtis Allen(1886-1950). Allen was born in Waban, Massachusetts and studied at the Worcester Museum of Art School with Philip Hale, Hermann Dudley Murphy, and Henry D. Rice. He later became good friends with artists Frank Benson, William Tarbell, and S. Dacre Bush, often visiting Bush at his summer home on Cape Neddick, Maine. Oil on board, unsigned, title inscribed on verso artist’s label “Spring Brook, Dublin, New Hampshire,” and housed in a molded silver painted frame.
