A solid Chippendale slant front desk in walnut with a clean compartmentalized interior featuring eight valanced open cubbies flanking a central prospect door, which opens to two additional cubbies and fitted drawer, flanked by four fitted lower drawers. The lower case has four graduated long drawers with brass batwing brasses, all supported by a nicely shaped skirt and carved bracket base. The desk dates to the 18th century and is in very good overall condition, with some finish restoration, an old repair on the lip edge, shrinkage cracks, as well as a small patch on the back of the desk.
