A wonderful black and white photograph, A Snicket in Halifax, by famed German/English photographer and photojournalist Bill Brandt (1904-1983). Brandt was born in Hamburg, Germany and later moved to England, where he became known for his images of British society for Lilliput, Picture Post, and Harper’s Bazaar magazines, as well as for his photos of distorted nudes, famous artists, and landscapes. He is considered by some as one of the most important British photographers of the 20th century. This photograph is signed lower right, matted and framed under glass in a simple molded black frame.
