Perhaps 300 sets of these prints were sold, and were generally bound into two volumes. These animals were drawn by John James Audubon and Victor Gifford Audubon probably contributed to the background. This is a hand-colored stone lithograph is marked No. 11, Plate LIV, drawn from nature by John J. Audubon F.R.S.F.L.S., and printed by the highly skilled printer James T. Bowen of Philadelphia, dated 1845. Excellent overall condition, matted under glass in a molded giltwood frame, with minor imperfections.
