A nice example of a French Morbier type tall clock with oak case, its bonnet with an arched molded pediment, a conforming arched glass front door and oak side access doors, a brass arched dial with applied reticulated metal spandrels, chased foliate decoration in the center, metal chapter ring with Roman numerals, signed in the arch by the maker and dated 1830, with brass chain driven works with a single weight and brass pendulum bob. The waist door is decorated with thin inlaid checkered border and central diamond window, and the checkered inlay border is repeated on the molded base. The clock is in very good overall condition, with some old hinge repairs, other imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. It appears to be in good working order, but has not had any recent tuning. Dimensions: 90 ¼” h x 17 ¾” w x 10” d.
