This colorful modernist abstract oil painting was done by Mexican artist Leonardo M. Nierman (b. 1932). Nierman was born in Mexico City, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mexico, and went on to become one of the leaders of modern Mexican art with his abstract expressionist style, which is greatly inspired by music. Oil on raised panel, signed and dated 66 lower left, titled on a small verso label “Floating City,” and housed in a simple modern giltwood frame. Dimensions: 16 in. h x 23.75 in. w, actual; 22 in. h x 29.75 in. w, framed.
