This nicely done marine watercolor of a coastal seascape was painted by American artist Stanley Woodward (1890-1970). Woodward was born in Malden, Massachusetts, and went on to author Adventures in Marine Painting (1948) and Marine Painting in Oil and Watercolor (1961) and also illustrated for Collier’s and Ford Times magazines.He became well recognized for his marine paintings and seascapes. Watercolor on paper, signed lower right, with title inscribed on verso “Bermuda Swell,” matted and framed under glass in a molded giltwood frame.
