A fine example of a taxidermied “color phase” North American black bear skin rug with black felt base, probably dating to the mid 20th century. Black bears come in more colors than any other North American mammal. They can be black, brown, cinnamon, blond, blue-gray, or white. East of the Great Plains, nearly all are black. This brown example is in very good overall condition, with minor imperfections, losses, and light expected wear from age and use. A great addition to your mountain lodge or man cave! Dimensions: 8” h x 68” w x 77” d.
