A nicely detailed large Italian pencil and conte crayon drawing of a Commedia dell’ arte scene, featuring various exaggerated and partially nude characters representing various social classes which were common in early professional theater, and became popular in Europe since the 16th century. Pencil and conte crayon on panel, unsigned, and housed in a complimenting wooden frame. Probably dates to the 1930s. Good to excellent overall condition. Dimensions: 32" h x 39 1/2" w, actual; 36 3/4" h x 44 1/4" w, framed.
