A fine example of a six U-shaped panel birch molded plywood folding screen or room divider, first designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1946 for Herman Miller with canvas hinges, and later with polypropylene mesh, as found on this screen. The screen design represented a series of undulating waves to stand alone as room dividers, privacy panels, and backdrops to highlight other furniture or art objects. This version of the screen probably dates to the late 20th century and is in excellent overall condition, with minimal imperfections and wear. Dimensions: Overall: 68" h x 58 1/2" w x 2 1/2" d. Each panel measures 9 1/2" w.
