A beautiful rare Vienna Regulator knife edge suspension 30-day Biedermeier wall clock by Alois Schenk, Wien, circa 1840. The rosewood and satinwood veneered case has a cast metal pierced crest surmounting a full length glazed door flanked by barber pole veneered quarter columns with Corinthian capitals, the painted metal dial signed “Alois Schenk, Wien” with roman numerals and enclosed in a cast foliate piecrust bezel, brass single weight movement with pendulum, over a nicely carved lower finial. Very good working condition, with minor paint wear to the dial, other minor imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. Dimensions: 48” h x 11 ½” w x 4 ½” d.
