A fine English mahogany tall case clock with inlaid mahogany crest, brass ball and spire finials. Painted arched metal dial with nicely executed moon phase, Roman and Arabic numerals, seconds and date aperture, spandrels with wreaths and gilded lozenges. Signed “W. Strickland, Tenterden.” Bonnet with hinged, glazed door flanked by columns with corinthian capitals all supported by a case with tombstone door and paneled base.
Good to excellent overall condition, with minor imperfections, dial scratches, paint losses and craquelure visible, shrinkage cracks, along with expected wear from age and use. Eight day brass movement in good working order recently cleaned and serviced and ready for your home! Dimensions: 88" h x 20 1/2" w x 10 1/2" d.
