This modernist oil painting of a vintage motorcycle titled “Knucklehead” was done by contemporary New Hampshire artist Christopher Myott (1982-).The knucklehead is a retronym used by enthusiasts to refer to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle engine. In 2005, Chris Myott received a BS in studio arts at Chester College, located near Manchester, NH, and he spent two years living and working in Boston. After an apprenticeship at Boston's Institute of Contemporary art (ICA), Myott returned in 2007 to New Hampshire where he currently works as a furniture maker and artist in the Monadnock region, as well as pursuing his passion of rebuilding vintage motorcycles.
