A nice pair of Georgian English mahogany cutlery or knife boxes, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century with slanted hinge lids, delicate inlay visible on the interior of each lid, fitted interiors on each, and original brasses. Good overall condition, with some case losses and repairs, lid edge losses, veneer shrinkage cracks, and other imperfections and expected wear from age and use. One set of lid hinges has been overextended slightly and they have retained their original surface patina. Dimensions: Each measure 14 ¾” h (closed) 24 ¼” h (open) x 8 ¾” w x 11 ½” d.
