A beautifully detailed still life oil of Civil War Union artifacts, including a bugle, canteen, and kepi by American artist (b.1928 -). Doxey was born in Ogden, Utah and was an art teacher at Westminster College in Salt Lake City for 33 years. He has become known for his photo-real still life paintings from the Western genre. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, titled inscribed on verso stretcher “Taps,” and housed in a decorative giltwood frame with linen and gilt insets. .
