A leather polychrome hand painted floor screen or room divider with four hinged panels, foliate decorated on one side with baskets and urns, as well as various geometric designs on a dark background with gilt borders. The reverse shows plain black panels with simple thin white line blocks in each panel. Probably dates to the late 17th or early 18th century. The screen is in fair condition, with old repairs and restorations, as well as several separations and holes visible in the leather, especially on the left panel, and overall craquelure, losses, and expected wear from age and use. One of the lower hinges has separated from a panel. Dimensions: 84" h x 86" w x 1" d.
