This colorful abstract city scene with a figure on the sidewalk titled "Palisades" was originally painted by Italian artist Nicola Simbari (1927-2012). Simbari was born in Calabria, Italy and became well known for his semi-abstract impressionist work, favoring brilliant tones in his work.He was awarded the commission to paint murals for the Italian Pavilion at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels. Inscribed in pencil lower left 12/300 and signed lower right “Simbari,” matted and framed under glass in a modern chrome frame with blue accent inset. Slight wave visible under the mat.
