This historical bronze plaque depicts the Birth of Fascism and the March on Rome on October 22, 1922 by Italian sculptor Giovanni Battista Tedeschi (1883-1944). Signed lower right “B. Tedeschi” and in lower left corner reads “RIPR VIET. Z & B,” short for “riproduzione vietata,” an Italian abbreviation meaning: “copyrighted, and reproduction forbidden.” The upper portion of the plaque depicts the head of Mussolini on the right & General Emilio De Bono on the left. Excellent overall condition, with great patina and light expected wear from age and use. Provenance: Descended through a family after acquisition in the 1970’s from the Alfred Nasi estate in Milan, Italy. Dimensions: 15 ½” h x 11 ¼” w x 1” d.
