This nice marine painting of a coastal scene with boats on Monhegan Island was painted by American artist Charles Ebert (1873-1959). Ebert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later became the chief political cartoonist and full time illustrator for Life Magazine. Ebert is most well known for his Monhegan Island and Old Lyme Colony Connecticut paintings. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, and stamped on verso.
