Joseph Trippetti Copper Cloisonne Enamel on Copper - After The Hunt
This is a two panel colorful copper cloisonne enamel abstract scene on copper by American artist Joseph Trippetti (b. 1928). Trippetti was born in Philadelphia and developed a love for medieval imagery through his study of Renaissance tapestries while studying in England to become a silversmith with the Sheffield School of Arts and Crafts. Upon his return to the United States, he then focused his skills on enameling, with cloisonné becoming his choice medium. He became Supervisor at the Currier Museum in Manchester, NH in the 1950’s and later the Executive Director of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. He retired in 1969 and lives in Cincinnati, OH. Copper cloisonne enamel on copper, signed lower right, titled on verso Trippetti label “After The Hunt,”. mounted on plywood board with a simple thin wooden frame. Dimensions: 12” h x 32” w, actual; 20 ½” h x 40 ½” w, framed.
