A fine Scottish mahogany tall clock with banded inlay on case, swan neck broken hand carved pediment on bonnet with brass rosettes, replaced finial, chamfered tapering columns flanking a painted tombstone metal dial with Roman numerals and foliate painted spandrels, signed “W. Hall, No. Shields,” along with a seconds and date dial, eight day time and hour strike brass movement. The case is supported by replaced bracket feet. Very good overall condition, with some losses, repairs, and expected shrinkage cracks and wear from age and use. The waist door has a slight warp and part of its key escutcheon is not present. Dimensions: 88 ½” h x 19 ¾” w x 9 ½” d.
