A fine example of a carved alabaster or marble figural sculpture of 3 children singing with a musical scroll signed on verso by Italian sculptor Adolfo Cipriani (active 1880-1930). The figure on the right is playing the mandolin. Raised on a tiered ogee moulded base, with separate ebonized wooden conforming plinth. Excellent overall condition, with a minor corner repair on the cornice base, small edge loss on the scroll, small roughness on one finger, and minor imperfections and light wear from age and use. Dimensions: 12 1/2" h x 17 1/4" w x 7 1/4" d. The wooden base measures 1 3/4 inches high.
