A pair of English cavalry gilt box spurs by Maxwell of Piccadilly. The necks are straight and stamped "Maxwell"and have rowels with chased foliate decoration. The box fittings are each stamped "161 Piccadilly, London", which dates the spurs before 1920. One fitting is marked “Right” and the other marked “Left”. The set comes in a custom leatherette covered wooden box with red velvet liner. The pair of spurs are in excellent overall condition, with minimal imperfections, slight tarnishing, and light expected surface wear from age and use. Dimensions: Each measure ¾” h x 4 ¼” w x 2 ½” d.
