This wonderful oil painting of a totem on a rocky coastal shoreline was painted by New Hampshire contemporary artist Aline Lotter (20th/21st century). Lotter spent most of her adult life raising two children, practicing tax law, and volunteering for non-profit organizations, including the Sierra Club. Reaching retirement age, she is now pursuing her youthful love of making art, embracing the diversity of her subject matter and styles and celebrating each on its own terms. Her style ranges from loose and impressionistic to refined and realistic, and she has begun experimenting with abstracted landscapes as well as animal portraits. Oil on panel, unsigned, titled on verso label “Totem,” as well as inscribed “Narragansett,” and housed in a simple wooden frame. Dimensions: 11” h x 14” w, actual, 14 ¼” h x 17 ¼” w, framed.
Featuring period furniture, fine art, quality porcelain, silver and decorative accessories.
