This splendid coastal oil painting of the Wharf at Jonesport, Maine was done by American artist Paul Strisik (1918-1998). Strisik was born in Brooklyn, New York, studied at the Art Students League in NY with Frank Vincent Dumond, and later moved to Rockport, MA, where he spent most of his life as an artist and instructor, well known for his landscape, marine, and still life painting. Oil on canvas, signed lower left, and inscribed on verso “Demonstration, Gloucester, MA, 1992,” and housed in a simple giltwood frame with linen lined inset. Dimensions: 16” h x 20” w, actual; 21 ¼” h x 25” w, framed.
